Helsinki, Finland
I am currently in Helsinki, Finland on a so called "break/time off " from the world and travelling around Europe. However I just can't seem to get away from getting myself involved in or making contacts in the creative field. I guess it's natural for me to be drawn into this circle. And I shouldn't shut it off but just be receptive of the vibes. and it has been good so far........
overhaul of site
i really need to update this blog. more creations have surfaced since the start of the year of no Lord 2011 and at times , just unable to keep track of the physical world of these materials onto the virtual world that is on the interweb. the lack of interweb access just make things harder as well.
and certain links are currently under overhaul....or i have to create new links for certain audio creations to be heard.......
here are some of the audiowork that I am involved in and I'm sure there will be more coming up as things evolve....
Hordes of the Black Cross - anti cult black fucking metal
http://www.invertedsovthernkross.wordpress.com
Voidhanger - morbid / negative atmospheres / black noise
http://invertedsovthernkross.wordpress.com
Animalspirits - dark ambient/ritual
http://www.encirclingsea.wordpress.com
Ayatdarah - occultist drones
I am also a "curator" / constructor of small scale conceptual series of events/gigs for the sound community that I am actively involved in. I am particularly interested in the field of improvised noise/harsh electronics, dark dystopian ambient, funeral doom and black metal .
Makhlukhalus - music / sound based upon improvisations. winter inspired gig held every winter since 2009
Makassar - music / sound based upon noise/black metal
Levitation: The Beast Within - music / sound based upon black metal, dark ambient / noise . weekly gigs in the month of May in an ode to the decay of Autumn and a call for the Winter Beast to levitate
Realm ov Azab - music /sound based upon black metal, noise and doom metal . held on the 1st weekend of Winter
The Gloom Chamber - sound / chamber music based upon primal improvisations, funeral/death/dark ambient

I will be performing with Animalspirits and hosting the Ceremony as part of the Winter Solstice that is occuring now.
Here is the write up of the Ceremony
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Once in a while a series of opportunities come along that make the ingredients for an event that only happens rarely. The emergence of Nekrasov into the live music realm and the possibility that this will be their last live performance for awhile, the ritual developments of AnimalSpirits, a new galactaphonic entity Gaunt by Gabriel Carazo, Grist at the top of it’s game and the availability of the ancient space of the Northcote Uniting Church have all combined to create Winter Solstice.
This feast of meditative sounds and noise signify our survival this far and our continued survival as the days get longer.
To signify this event there will also be made available a limited edition tape of 50 units featuring a Gaunt, Voidhanger and Abre Ojos side A collaboration and Side B featuring a Grist vs Nekrasov duel. These will be ready to pick up on the door for pre-sale purchasers only. Buy them now including entry to the night for $15 using the Paypal button here: http://abreojos.net/?p=515 . We will have your purchase details on the door, just bring some photo ID.

Jezz4t on frameworkradio.net/
i have a 3 minute field recording piece that i have contributed for Tarab. you can check out the streaming audio or download at the following link below.
my piece is the sound of dirt being unearth and shovelled into a pit. in that pit, within a container lies a microphone to capture the sound of dirt dumped onto it. the equalization is all natural. the more earth is being shoved under, the captured sounds gets muffled or more murky. the sensation is similar if u were to be buried alive in a coffin............
http://www.frameworkradio.net/
this edition of framework:afield has been produced in australia by eamon sprod (aka tarab). for for information on his work, see http://www.23five.org/tarab. eamon has this to say about the program:
This contribution to framework:afield, is in a way a continuation of a series of questions I have been asking myself recently about my work with sound, and about the hows and whys of my use of field recordings. I am curious about the various ways in which found or recorded sound, once removed from its usual context combine to form an other. And how simply through arrangement, through altering the context or surrounding sounds, rather than altering the sound itself through digital processing and the like, you can create an imaginary environment or space for a listener to inhabit. This piece is a simple form of collage. Looking at how the perception of a particular recording is altered by the recording that proceeds it, and how by combining recordings they can come together to create a new and separate space.
By setting myself a series of rules or limitations I have attempted to step outside of what I would usually do within my compositional work, and to set about using raw unaltered recordings, and not of my choosing, to see if I could come up with something which I found interesting. This piece has been constructed from 23 recordings made by different people, and all sourced from within Australia. I asked for one unaltered recording from each person, of anywhere between 1 second and 3 minutes in length. Of course the term field recording can mean many things, and in an attempt to leave this as open as possible I indicated that anything recorded “outside the studio” was fine by me. Simply suggesting that people may like to look at their “local area” for the source of the sound.
I initially planned to arrange the recordings sequentially, but found I couldn’t come up with a particularly interesting result. So while keeping within my limitation of not altering the sounds in any way myself, I decided to create three layers, one at full volume, one at mid volume and one at low volume. Now every recording appears three times. There are not always three recordings playing at once, but there are never more than three. Certain sounds you will clearly hear repeating, while others you may only notice once as they are in some way consumed within the whole.
I have attempted to let the sounds lead me to the combinations that have arrived, starting from purely arbitrary sequences, then working back and rearranging the sounds until I felt that they were all in the places they needed to be, without trying to over work and more importantly over think or loose the somewhat random nature of the arrangement. However while process was important to this piece, it is not the point. My aim was to use simple means to create what is hopefully an interesting sonic experience.

Malakat review on Aquarius Records
a review of Malakat. the cd is still available from me or Sweatlung. there are audio links on Aquarius records webpage.
MALAKAT Collected Tracks + Yellow Swans / Grey Daturas / Malakat Collage (Sweatlung)
Sprawling double disc of self described 'other planetary field drone' from this mysterious Aussie duo featuring members of doomsludge heavies Whitehorse, avant noisemakers Bone Sheriff, and grey metallers Krystoffkrvstoffiston, one disc of collected tracks (hence the title), the other disc a 'collaborative' collage put together by Malakat, and made up entirely of an unreleased collaboration between the now defunct Grey Daturas and the also now defunct Yellow Swans, but more on that in a second.
The collected tracks disc, gathers up various jams from the last few years, all of them hushed and minimal and mysterious, strange dronescapes of abstract ambience and microscopic events, field recordings and performances, long stretches of creak and whir and thrum and rumble, laced with mysterious voices, fragments of melodies, a sound somewhere between the free forest clatter of Avarus, the ritualistic black abstraction of Abruptum and the free sonic exploration of A Handful Of Dust.
Long streaks of feedback, overloaded mics, monstrous howls, low end crumble, whirring layers of glitch and hum, washed out hazy shimmer laid over murky sonar mumbles and muted clatter and clank, doomy crumbling rhythms pulled apart into sprawling industrial blurs, all smeared into creepy hushed black ambient drifts, and groaning, creaking, whispery abstract free noise minimalism.
The second disc, finds Malakat assembling somewhat similar sounds, but using only a recording of the Yellow Swans and Grey Daturas from 2006 as source material, and according to the liner notes: "pots, pipes, a clay skull and a wooden tube". And it sort of sounds like it. Sort of. Ultra minimal, abstract and ambient, stretches of what sound like alien field recordings give way huge heaving swells of crumbling buzz, squalls of roiling blacknoize splinter into full on drum freakouts and blurred drone jams, deep cavernous rumbles explode into jagged shards of hissing static and beastly vocal mewling, gorgeous blown out swells of chordal whir dissipate into chiming metal-buzz minimalism, these lengthy bursts of sonic energy, which actually don't sound all that messed with, more like they're just straight up recordings of GD and YS rocking out,, but those blowouts are all separated by short interludes of barely there shimmer and hazy muted drift. Killer stuff. On bad ass Australian label Sweatlung, and most likely crazy limited...

Captured Noize - Kaptured (exerpt)

Captured Noize - Kaptured (exerpt) is the 2nd series of Captured Noise installation by Jezz4t.
In the first series of Captured Noise, Jezz4t reconfigured the gallery space by creating an environment of sound and texture. Objects used were hessian, egg shells, dirt, bark, leaves and coffee beans. Captured noise of composed environments were spatialised across speakers and acoustic sounds of the objects were heard being crushed as ...the audience navigates across the space.
A world where the objects were left for dead and laid to waste - texture of sounds captured in its body - a release of noise through physical intervention, disintegration and amplification.
What began as a sound and object installation led to a creation that evoke a sense of touch, smell, sight, sound and taste.
With Kaptured (exerpt), Jezz4t is collaborating with Ickyl to create a sound and object dimension. And in this portal, it features heavily the hushed treasures and secrets of Ickyl amongst the ocean of sound.
"....Hushed treasures and secrets amongst the ocean of sound........"

The Escalators
I will be performing as DJ Element with the Escalators. We are doing a 3 date tour via Melburn- Sydney- Brisvegaz to support a cd that is release by Jazzhead Recording.
Below are the dates and info of gig.
30th July 2010 - Melburn Recital Centre
06th Aug 2010 - Sound Lounge, SIMA ( Sydney )
13th Aug 2010 - Brisbane Powerhouse ( Brisbane)
The Escalators is a band that sounds quite unlike anything else. Taking its inspiration from some of the artistic concepts of master film maker David Lynch the band has developed it’s own very unique approach to music making. While not specifically referencing David Lynch, composer Kynan Robinson sought to imply concepts such as an investigation into normality as well as an application of dual narratives involving both the ideas of reality and fantasy into the sometimes beautiful, sometimes unsettling music played by the Escalators.
The band has worked with a visual artists Kiron Robinson and Michelle Robinson to create a set design which includes video, and a live show which tetters on the edge of haunting beauty an Lynchian wierdness.
The Escalators consists of a veritable whos who of the Melbourne music scene with all of it’s performers playing in dozens of other significant Melbourne bands including City City City, Adam Simmons Toys Band, Des Peres, Skazz, CW. Stoneking, Marc Hannaford Trio, Malakat and the Ned Collette band and introduces the astounding talents of master DJ, DJ Element.
“Over a bed of sustained lush harmonic, totally controlled musical stillness DJ Element cut samples in and out at rapid speed, throwing them all around the room before they inverted in upon themselves or washed away to nothingness. An musical and visual atmosphere that leaves you spellbound” Reiff Magazine
Piano - Marc Hannaford
Bass - Mick Meagher
Drums - Joe Talia
Trumpet - Pat Thiel
Guitar - Lawrence Folvig
Turntables/Sampler - DJ Element
Trombone/Composer - Kynan Robinson

jezzat @ out of fest 2008
it's been a long time since i performed as jezzat. the materials and audio that is involved can be a daunting task and i am my worse enemy when it comes to critical choices made as jezzat. here are the pics and the materials used at the performance at bus gallery.
it was used as an installation piece for the festival. when will i do jezzat again ? i myself am not sure. archived out for me to know i should get jezzat out.
